Kids Night Out will be on the following Fridays this summer:

June 18th & 25th, July 2nd, 16th, 23rd, & 30th ,  August 6th & 13th

Time: 6-9 P.M. @ Deep Creek Baptist Church (across from UNO’s)

Ages: 4 yrs. – 6th grade

Cost: $5/child with a $10 family max

My name is Julie DuVall. My husband and I serve as MSC Missionaries in the Deep Creek Lake Resort Area.  This is our third year here and it is exciting to see what God is doing in the mountains of Western Maryland.

We are so excited about everyone who visits our site to learn more about what we do and how you can join us in this exciting ministry.  We currently are involved in ministries during the summer and winter months. In the summer, we provide campground services, work on service projects around the area, provide a Kids Night Out every Friday night, along with other exciting ministries, such as slip disc ministry and prayerwalking.

In the winter months, we serve the seasonal employees at the Wisp Ski Resort through our doughnut ministry and by providing care packages and goodies to them at Valentine’s Day.  We are also involved in Winter Dunk in February and provide a Children’s Ministry Tent at Autumn Glory in the fall.

For those of you who may not be into ministry, but are just checking us out, be sure to look at page of our website with “the secret”. This is what it’s all about!

*Pray that we will continue to seek God’s guidance to new ministries.

*Pray for visitors to the lake area to be drawn to Christ and ready to

receive the truth of His word.

*Pray that we will hear from more mission teams who would like to come

help out this summer.

Summer Missions

I am excited about the four mission teams we will be having to help us out this summer.  Two are veterans from last year and two are new. PTL!

We have been busy planning for this summer and soon I will be posting items we can use to help out with Kids Night Out this summer.

This summer we have also applied for two summer missionaries to help us out. So far, we have one young lady, Ashley who will be coming to help.  We are looking forward to Ashley being here.  She will be helping out with our weekly ministries and playing a leadership role with our visiting  mission teams.

On that day, we will be taking platters of cookies to the break rooms, along with care packages for the employees.

We are trying to take 500 care packages and 40-50 dozen cookies!!!

If you would like to bake cookies for us or buy store made cookies, please let me know.  I will need all cookies by Thursday, Feb. 11th.

Also, if you would like to donate items for care packages please let me know.  I will need those items by Wed., February 10th.

Missionary Title Change

Bill and I are no longer US/C-2 missionaries with NAMB.  Instead, we are MSC missionaries with NAMB.  This means that we are currently self-funded.  Thanks so much to all of our church families that have agreed to help us out as we make this switch.

Also, as a reminder, remember to send the funding checks to the Western Baptist Association with our name in the memo.  If it is intended to support our salary, please mark the check as so. Otherwise, it will go towards ministry expenses. They will make sure we get the checks as they come in.

A Look Back

Last month we were busy with Autumn Glory and winding down from summer, as well as, looking ahead to the winter months.  Now things are slowing down a bit.

Thanks for all of your prayers and support during these busy days of ministry.

A Look Ahead

This month is a time to give thanks.  It is actually my favorite month of the year. Probably because of the fall foliage and Thanksgiving all wrapped up in one month.  I am looking forward to what November means for the ministry too!  I have the opportunity to speak at LaVale Baptist’s Mother Daughter Banquet. Then, I’ll be off to the BCM/D State Convention in Towson next week.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to find many churches across our state convention interested in coming to help with missions at the lake.

How can your church reach out and help us?

Throughout the year we put together care packages and craft items for different ministries that we are involved in. It is such a big help when we have church groups willing to collect items for us.  Here is a list of items we need for our ministries coming up.  If your group is interested, let me know and we will arrange to pick them up.  Thanks!
